Bombayla Devi crashes out of women's archery

Bombayla Devi loses 2-6 to Mexico's Aida Roman. Roman started the tie in perfect fashion, hitting three consecutive 10s to storm through the first set, and a rout looked on the cards. However, Bombayla Devi rallied back to win the second set 25-24 after Aida opened the second set with a 6. Bombayla earned the ignominy of becoming the first archer at the Games this year to miss the target completely, recording a 0 on her first try, all but ending her hopes in the competition. Other Indians Chekrovolu Swuro will have game on 31st July while Deepika Kumari on 1st August.
