Google doodle celebrates Olympics 'Archery'

Google is continuing its tradition of Olympics doodles with the London 2012 archery doodle. The Google doodle depicts a female archer aiming on a green field, reminiscent of the historic Lord's cricket ground where the archery events of the London 2012 Olympic games are being held. On Friday, the Google doodle had celebrated the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. The doodle 5 athletes playing different Olympic sports. Google's daily Olympic doodle tradition began back in 2000 during the Sydney Olympics and continued through the 2002 Winter Olympics (Salt Lake City, USA), 2004 Athens Olympics, 2006 Torino Winter Olympics, 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Saturday's Google doodle is the third archery doodle posted by Google during the Olympic Games. The first was in Sydney 2000 and the other during Athens 2004. Google didn't post an archery doodle during Beijing 2008. The archery events for the London Olympics began on Friday, before the opening ceremony. The archery events will continue till August 3.
