Jwala Gutta - Diju lose opening match in Olympics

Jwala Gutta and V Diju, Mixed doubles pair of Indian losses match in straight games to Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in their opening group match. Jwala and Diju lost 16-21 12-21 in just 25 minutes at the Wembley Arena. This was their second consecutive loss to the Indonesian pair, after French Open 2011. In a lopsided contest, Jwala and Diju failed to be in the lead even once in the entire duration of the Group C encounter.
Diju and Jwala will need to win their next two group matches to qualify for the knockouts which begin on Wednesday. Only two of the four teams will qualify for the quarter-finals from each of the four groups. The Indian World No. 13 pair will next face Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Rytter Juhl of Denmark Sunday whom they have never beaten in their two meetings yet.
