Paes/Vardhan crashed out of Men's Doubles in Olympics

Indian challenge in men's tennis doubles at the London Olympics 2012 ended on Wednesday as Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan too crashed out of the event. On Tuesday, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna had bowed out and a day later Paes-Vardhan joined them. Paes and Vardhan fought a tough three-set battle before going down to the French pair of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra 6-7 (3/7), 6-4, 3-6 at Wimbledon court number 18. Paes, will however remain in an Olympics event for now, as he will team up with Sania Mirza to play the mixed doubles.
Paes was only paired with Vardhan by All India Tennis Association (AITA) chiefs after Mahesh Bhupathi refused to play with the doubles ace following the breakdown of their successful partnership. The controversy turned ugly when Bhupathi accused Paes of lying to him on several occasions and changing his partner during a tournament in November 2011 without informing him. After several weeks of tension, Bhupathi, who wrote to the AITA to protest against their decision, finally got his wish to play with Rohan Bopanna at the Games, while Paes was told to play with Vardhan. BIG TENNIS DREAM ENDS WITH BIG DEFEAT ON FACE OF PAES AND BHUPATI....Not Only Traggic but also Shameful when Personal ego is bigger than Nation.
